Scientifically speaking, a crow is a black pointy thing.

And herein lies the beauty of stylizing such an animal.

This creature, so prevalent in culture and mythology, has a monopoly on being a 'black bird'. The crow can be a dream exercise for those who love to push the design and stylization of an animal to its limits. A mere blob, and beak, cast in shadow.

And yet, this bird has more gems to offer us artists, wish such a recognizable silhouette.
Don't just feel satisfied with the splurge of black? Get intimate with that anatomy, yo. Make those crows so crow they don't need no colour to glow pure 'crow', ya know?

Mandrill
:thumb677721415:
Welcome to the new year! I hope everyone’s holidays were happy and safe.
For the next couple of months, we challenge you to create a stylized piece with a mandrill theme. Tiger
:thumb39166223:
For the next couple of months you are challenged to create a stylized representation of a tiger. With their distinctive stripes, strength, and ferocity tigers are probably one of the most recognizable animals in the world. Their cultural significance, especially in Asia, is complex and varied.
We encourage you to not only create a stylized tiger, but to also research and convey some of the rich history and significance tigers represent.

August/September stylized challenge + feature
August and September Challenge:
Hummingbird
:thumb205091788: :thumb287999520:
For the next couple of months you are challenged to create a stylized representation of a hummingbird. These tiny feathered bullets are a familiar sight during the summer months in North America and backyard bird enthusiast can observe these birds upclose with a specialty feeder and sugar water.
With their distinct size, beak, and flying pattern, hummingbirds should provide ample inspiration for artists to create a stylized or abstract work.
